Supercraft's Story
Founded in 2024, Supercraft Aircraft Support represents the evolution of the business formerly known as Custom Aviation. With the rebrand came a renewed vision—one built around the belief that general aviation deserves a more personal, transparent, and customer-focused approach to aircraft maintenance.
Aviation has always been part of Director Tyler Bouman's life. As a second-generation aircraft engineer and former RNZAF technician, he established Supercraft to provide aircraft owners with honest communication, meticulous workmanship, and the level of personal service that is becoming increasingly rare in general aviation.
Following his service in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, Tyler built a career spanning both military and civilian aviation, gaining experience maintaining both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters in demanding operational environments. This broad experience has shaped his meticulous approach to aircraft maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and practical engineering solutions.
Today, Supercraft Aircraft Support provides maintenance, inspections, repairs, restorations, and modifications for private owners, flying clubs, commercial operators, and flight training organisations. Every aircraft—whether undergoing a routine inspection or a major restoration—receives the same high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
Tyler believes aircraft maintenance is about more than simply signing a logbook. It is about protecting an owner's investment, ensuring the safety of everyone on board, and building trust through transparent communication and dependable workmanship.
Based at Taieri Airfield near Dunedin, Supercraft proudly supports the general aviation community throughout Otago and across New Zealand. Since 2024, the company has built its reputation on integrity, reliability, technical excellence, and a genuine passion for keeping aircraft safe, compliant, and ready to fly.

Testimonials
"I engaged with Tyler Bouman under the Custom Aviation banner, now Supercraft, beginning in mid-2021 to restore my 1952 Pipercub PA18-A. This project finished early 2025.
During the course of this restoration, Tylers professionalism, remote contract-communication work has been exemplary. The work itself, has been above my expectations and complemented on by others.
I have great faith in Tyler and his company, so much so that they will be undertaking the restoration work for a further two PA18-A aircraft to rebuild. I will also be referring him to others for rebuild-maintenance work."

"I’ve had Tyler looking after my aircrafts for about four years now, and the bloke runs an absolute mint operation. He’s sharp, reliable, straight-up with his communication, and is well respected in the aviation world around this area, everyone knows he does a bloody good job.
Long story short: Tyler’s solid. He keeps my bird humming, he knows his stuff, and he’s a genuinely valued operator in the industry. More than happy to vouch for him."

"I have been a customer of Tyler Bouman's since 2021. There are a number of options open to me for Permit to Fly Annual Inspection and maintenance services. SuperCraft Aircraft Support is my preferred supplier for these services and will continue to be so.
I value in particular the customer engagement. Keeping my aircraft fit to fly has been something of partnership. The word "support" in the company title is very appropriate regarding the manner in which business is carried out. Pricing is fair and competitive.
When aloft, confidence in any work carried out is critical, and I trust Supercraft implicitly with regard to assessment of the aircraft and the quality of workmanship to remedy identified issues.
Supercraft operates alongside other maintenance providers. The diverse range of aviation needs in the area enables these businesses to complement each other, offering a wide spectrum of services to the aviation community. This advantage continues to develop the airfield itself into a focal point for aviation services."
Bernard

Supercraft has a very specialised personal service, and we are expanding with the world pilot shortage and will continue to use Supercraft in the future."
